Dear Mount Carmel School Families,
Mount Carmel School considers the health and well-being of our students and staff a priority. With that in mind, we are sending this letter home for your awareness. It was communicated to the administration today, November 23, 2021, that another student has tested positive for COVID-19. As the school works to support the affected student, class, and families, we ask parents to remain calm and refer to the official information below for guidance:
Please note, that any student who has been identified as close contact of the individual diagnosed with COVID-19 has been notified of their close contact status prior to the distribution of this letter. If you did not receive that notification, your student is NOT a close contact of the individual diagnosed with COVID-19. Therefore, they are not required to quarantine at home or to be tested. However, we do recommend that you continue to monitor your child each day for symptoms. If your child develops COVID-19 symptoms, please:

As positive cases rise, Mount Carmel School will work with medical experts and healthcare professionals to best protect and serve the school community.
As positive cases rise, Mount Carmel School will work with medical experts and healthcare professionals to best protect and serve the school community. Additionally, Mount Carmel School recognizes that the school’s current COVID-19 response procedures can better support the learning needs of its students. As the virus remains in our community, Mount Carmel School will work with medical experts and healthcare professionals to also guide the school’s policies and procedures to support student learning.
Protect our School Community
As positive cases are detected in the community, everyone has a role to play to keep the school safe. Families who have been contacted by the COVID-19 Task Force for contact tracing are asked to voluntarily share this information with the school. While the school understands that families who have been contacted by the Task Force will desire privacy, lack of communication can pose a greater risk to the school community and a potential school shut down. Lack of information can also delay the school’s ability to enact the necessary COVID-19 mitigation procedures if there were a positive case detected.
To ensure the privacy of any affected family, we ask parents to voluntarily share this information with Acting President Mrs. Frances Taimanao through the following communication platforms below.
