Mount Carmel School Announced Student Council Leaders for School Year 2022-2023
Mount Carmel School recently announced her student council leaders for the 2022-2023 school year.
The MCS Student Council (STUCO) is responsible for organizing activities, which build school pride, spirit, and unity. STUCO, acting as the voice of the student body, provides a channel through which ideas from students in all grades can be expressed and shared. The STUCO president is also a member of the school’s leadership team to serve as the voice of the student body.
The elected officers for the 2021-2022 school year are Gerald I. Deleon Guerrero, Jr. as president, Kayannie Ilifighar Borja Peter as vice president, Jose John Mafnas as treasurer, Erin Lillian Frink as secretary, and Francine Monique Flores Albuen as historian.
Upcoming STUCO president Gerald I. Deleon Guerrero, Jr. shared that he ran for president to promote positive mental health and support for student activities aimed to motivate and empower students.
“I am overwhelmed with an immeasurable amount of gratitude to everyone who has bestowed their trust and confidence in me. I will use this opportunity to move our school forward, with the will to amplify your voice, share your vision and spark change to better our school community. The work begins now. Thank you and Si Yu’us Ma’åse, Knights!",” shared Gerald.
As vice president, Kayannie “Kayili” Ilifighar Borja Peter aims to prioritize the voice of the students. Stating, “ I will work closely with my fellow STUCO officers to improve communication within the school and listen to what our student body has to say. As the next vice president, I will gladly speak up for the student body and prioritize listening to the voice of the students. I plan on bringing back school-wide activities as we return to normalcy for the next school year. I am grateful for this opportunity and hope to improve inclusivity and communication throughout the MCS community. Thank you for all of your support!”
Jose John Mafnas who will serve as the treasurer shared his hopes for next school year and aims to create new student fundraiser opportunities, invest in products that produce profit, and manage finances responsibly. “Since I ran unopposed, I didn't have much of a challenge to win, instead, I'll be having the challenge to prove my worth. This is a challenge that I accept. I want to not only gain the trust of the students but of my fellow STUCO officers. I want to thank you all for the support and for allowing me to have this position, and I look forward to being your STUCO Treasurer for 2022-2023.
STUCO secretary Erin Frink shared her excitement to serve as STUCO secretary stating, “As Secretary, I hope to create an environment that involves and benefits our entire Knight family, as well as engage students more academically and socially. I’m excited for the return of normalcy next year, and hopefully, the return of our school spirit as a whole. I hope we all get to have fun together!"
Mount Carmel School’s first STUCO historian is Francine Monique Flores Albuen shared her goals as Mount Carmel School’s first historian stating, "Given this opportunity as your STUCO Historian, I am committed to capturing the memories and experiences of all students throughout the upcoming school year. I will work alongside my team to bring school spirit and overall promote unity and inclusivity within our school. I dedicate my whole self to giving you a wonderful and fun school year!"
Mount Carmel School’s English teacher, Mr. Zeno Deleon Guerrero, Jr. who is otherwise known as Mr. Z, will serve as the STUCO advisor for the upcoming school year. I
