Dear Mount Carmel School Families,
Based on data and information provided by the CNMI COVID-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC), which does not see widespread community transmission, the school has decided that we will fully resume face-to-face classes on Monday, March 22.
To that effect, please note the following:
3rd quarter exams will be held on Tuesday and Thursday next week, with Monday set aside as a refresher day for course content.
To make up for instructional time lost from this week, 7th through 12th grade students will not have Mini-Courses. Instead, they will take their regular courses during that week.
All extra-curricular, co-curricular, and athletic activities are reinstated.
All other school events and activities that have been affected will be rescheduled for later dates.
Families that still have concerns about sending students to school may refer to the school’s attendance policies and procedures in the 2020-2021 Mount Carmel School Handbook.
We are also excited to announce that COVID-19 vaccinations are now open to individuals 16 years and older. You can register at www.vaccinatecnmi.com. In addition, we want want to reassure you that we remain committed to following our COVID-19 mitigation guidelines, which have been approved by the CNMI COVID-19 Task Force:
Conducting temperature and symptom checks for everyone arriving on campus
Requiring everyone on campus to wear a mask
Enforcing a physical distance of at least 6 feet from others
Continuing the use of plexiglass partitions in classroom
Continuing the use of UVC lighting in all classrooms, which kill coronavirus particles that circulate in the air
Continuing procedures to ensure physical distancing during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up
Continuing procedures for ensuring the safe delivery of student meals
Providing ample wash stations and hand sanitizers throughout campus
Conducting regular disinfecting and cleaning of all classrooms and common areas
You can also do your part to stop the spread with these three simple Ws:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Watch your distance by maintaining a physical distance of at least 6 feet between yourself and other people you don’t live with.
Wear a mask in public settings around people who don’t live in your household.
We thank you for your continued support and understanding. While these are perilous times, remember that we’re all in this together, and with FAITH in our Lord, HOPE for a better tomorrow, and LOVE for each other, we will get through this. We are KNIGHT STRONG. We are MARIANAS STRONG.
Sincerely in Christ,
