In accordance with Governor Ralph Deleon Guerrero Torres’ recent directive, Mount Carmel School will not facilitate face-to-face classes for the next ten days. At this time, asynchronous classes will not go into effect as we need to give our teachers ample time to prepare for the transition to online learning. A separate announcement will be made regarding a scheduled student supply pick-up. We kindly ask students and parents for their patience as the school will also need time to gather more information from the Office of the Governor, the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, and the CNMI Public School System before activating any additional protocols.
STUDENTS EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
As more information is collected by the Office of the Governor, the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force, and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, Mount Carmel School will cancel all student activities and events scheduled within this time frame. This includes and is not limited to the Halloween Festival, the Breast Cancer Awareness Roadside Waving, any student fundraising activities, and all student club activities.
MOUNT CARMEL SCHOOL’ SURVEILLANCE TESTING
Prior to the recent directives, Mount Carmel School had already scheduled its own monthly surveillance testing at the school for this Saturday, October 30, 2021. Later this morning, the school will be in contact with the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation to determine if this surveillance testing using the antigen-test will still be made available for our students and employees. Please remember that the antigen-test is different from the PCR test given to incoming travelers.

MOUNT CARMEL SCHOOL MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS
In order to keep our school community readily informed, we ask all families to remain attentive to all official media and communication efforts put out by the school. It is important that we also ask families to be patient, kind, and understanding as the school will work with the necessary government agencies and the Private School Coalition to determine the best course of action moving forward.
DO OUR PART BY PRACTICING THE THREE Ws
We also urge all families to remain vigilant in their efforts to stop the spread with these three simple Ws:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Watch your distance by maintaining a physical distance of at least 6 feet between yourself and other people you don’t live with.
Wear a mask in public settings around people who don’t live in your household.
Should you have any questions and/or concerns, be sure to follow any of our media platforms linked below or reach out to us by email.
