Dear Mount Carmel School Families, 

We thank you for your patience. The school has been carefully monitoring the weather information through emergency management agencies and official media outlets. As of 5:00 PM today, May 21, 2023, the Office of the Governor maintains that the CNMI is in Typhoon Condition III for TROPICAL STORM MAWAR (02W). Therefore, classes will continue as scheduled on Monday, May 22, 2023. 

However, as it states in the school’s handbook, “If the Governor declares “Condition 2” for a typhoon/tropical storm, all classes will be canceled. If “Condition 2” is announced while school is in session, the following procedures shall be observed:

1. Students shall be dismissed as soon as their transportation arrives.
2. Students should help the teacher move everything away from the windows and into the middle of the room.
3. Books and other instructional materials must be secured in the classrooms or be put into the lockers neatly.

4. Students will return to school when the President of the school announces it.
